It is said riding without stirrup for walk, trot, canter will be benefit to the firm seat. My question is: for the trot, I think it should generally be the sitting trot rather than rising. But as I consult the athletes around, they treat rising trot without stirrup as a training to enhance leg strength since this need to grip rider's leg to horse to get "rise " . This makes me confuse. You see when doing riding without stirrup, we combat to sit/sink into the saddle, stretch down the leg and heal, when we achieve this, how can we rising high.- i.e. when doing rising trot without sirrup. So as I see this will bring conflict practicing rising trot without stirrup between sit deep and rising high.
Just want to confirm with you for this. What is your idea? and do you usually do the practice of rising trot without stirrup?
Thanks in advance.
