Notice of Ministry of Agriculture of People’s Republic of China                                                     Serial No. 1291The 16th Asian Games will be held in Guangzhou in 2010. In line with Law of the People's Republic of China on the Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine and Administrative Regulation on the Assessment and Administration of Specific Animal Disease Free Zone (MOA 1), with the recognition of the National Animal Health Risk Assessment expert committee, Guangzhou Asian Games Specific Animal Disease Free Zone has officially established, which is free of Equine influenza and Japanese equine encephalomyelitis, and where 12 equine diseases are under the control in line with standards of equine disease free zone, namely, African horse sickness, Equine infectious anaemia, Glanders, Equine encephalomyelitis (Eastern), Equine encephalomyelitis (Western), Equine piroplasmosis, Equine viral arteritis, Dourine, Surra (Trypanosoma evansi), vesicular stomatitis, Nipah Virus Disease, West Nile Fever, Hendra. Guangzhou Specific Animal Disease Free Zone is the competition venue of the equestrian events of Guangzhou Asian Games, located in Ren Shui Village, Liang Kou Town, Cong Hua City, and its radius of 5000 meters. Its surveillance zone is the administrative area of Cong Hua City except the protection zone while its buffer zone covers Cong Hua’s eight neighboring counties or cities or districts, that is, Bai Yun District, Luo Gang District, Hua Du District, Zeng Cheng City, Qing Cheng District of Qing Yuan City, Fo Gang County, Xin Feng Counry of Shao Gang City, Long Men County of Hui Zhou City.
