Jose,

I use King's "Big Bite Delight" as the major treat (primary reinforcer). It is very cheap, easy, with the right size.

I also use some apple waffles and carrot cookies for jackpots. The horse can tell the difference.

I do not cut carrots because it takes me a while to prepare...

Targeting...

1. Set a target (like a traffic cone) in the ground. C/T whenever the horse touches it.
2. When the horse understands he need to touch the target, slowly move the target close to your 胯下. C/T every time he tries to touch or touches the target.
3. Then slowly move away the target from your 胯下 to the other side, while you stand between your horse and the target. Encourage him to touch the target by stretching his nose/neck underneath your 胯下. Watch out if he spooks. This will be very painful for you if he hits your important area....

Basically I think it is doable. Why do you want to teach this?

I never thought of using King's "Big Bite Delight" as a treat.

I know people who use the apple treats and most horses are ok with them. I use carrots because I can cut it smaller and give smaller quantities, 最主要是我刀工了得, I can make a sculpture out of carrots(Double Delight )
